{"id":545,"date":"2026-03-04T15:05:17","date_gmt":"2026-03-04T23:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salemdata.net\/johnpress\/?p=545"},"modified":"2026-03-04T15:05:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T23:05:17","slug":"battery-extractor-sling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salemdata.net\/johnpress\/?p=545","title":{"rendered":"Battery Extractor Sling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been working with the <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.lilygo.cc\/get_started\/en\/LoRa_GPS\/T-Beam-SUPREME\/T-Beam-SUPREME.html\">LilyGO\u00ae T-Beam SUPREME<\/a> ($41 not inc. shipping) which packs a punch with its:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ESP32-S3FN8 processor with 8MB of RAM and 8MB of PSRAM<\/li>\n<li>a 128x64px OLED display<\/li>\n<li>a Lora radio transceiver<\/li>\n<li>a GPS sensor (either MAX-M10S or L76K )<\/li>\n<li>Six-Axis Sensor<\/li>\n<li>Temperature, humidity and pressure sensor<\/li>\n<li>Magnetometer (compass)<\/li>\n<li>A power management chip for charging and running while charging<\/li>\n<li>Bluetooth connectivity<\/li>\n<li>Real Time Clock (keeps time when powered down, but attached to a battery or USB power line)<\/li>\n<li>An SD Card writer\/reader<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The unit is powered by a popular 18650 battery.\u00a0 The problem is that the battery holder secures the battery so well that you cannot pull the battery out with your fingers, you have to pry the battery out.<\/p>\n<p>To overcome the battery extraction problem, I designed and fabricated some battery slings using 10mm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B07F8TZZ4N?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&amp;th=1\"><span class=\"a-list-item\">polyimide film tape<\/span><\/a> tape and cut 10+mm portions from the shafts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0BT8VZ3GQ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&amp;th=1\">cotton swabs<\/a>.
