Our two dogs, Winnie, the golden retriever, and Josie, the Bernese Mountain dog. Both are female, enjoy long walks, romping around, and pan fried leftover sourdough starter. Winnie is my music partner as she sings to the last movement of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony “Pastorale” which I play a Franz Liszt arrangement of on the piano. She also enjoys 1 Bellini’s opera Norma, again an arrangement by Franz Liszt for piano which is a demanding piece. Josie plays the role of the adoring groupie and dutifully and quietly listens when Winnie sings.

I’ve created a photo page where photos of the two dogs are and will be posted: https://salemdata.net/ph/#OtQXBljVFfYN4RUHFcAj6LHD

  1. In this trial recording, she pulled a prima donna and left right during the most difficult part — I think she was not happy with the accompanist so she stormed off stage and called her manager. Capturing her rare performances sung with full gusto is a technical hit-or-miss affair, and she prefers the Beethoven. It really is a mood thing with her, sometime she begs to sing and then belts it out as if she were at the Met… and, as chance would have it, I do not have a camera rolling. ↩︎
